"...And that's why I'm banned from the mattress store, kids."

Man, I wish.  Mattress shopping is the worst.
But! Even mundane errands can be fun when you're with the ones you love.

Mysteries of the Unknown

It took me a while to figure out where all of my earbuds were going.
I need an Amazon Dash button for them.

My own personal soundtrack.

I blame Deadpool.  Sorry, not Sorry.

P.S.- The Carpenters bring a lovely sort of terror to your suburban grocery store run when you are a horror movie fan.

P.P.S - There really is a Concrete Pump Boom song.  It's disturbingly catchy and I find myself humming it often. If you have a construction vehicle enthusiast in your life, you can check it out here: Concrete Boom Pump Song

Band Together

Seriously, Back-to-School shopping is a magical time of year.

Just plane giddy

Wood you believe that pun?
Don't worry.
I shaved the best for last.

Good Vibrations

A few years ago a neurologist suggested I have a cup of coffee in the morning to prevent migraines.
It didn't really help much.
But I certainly wasn't about to give up my newfound best-friend because it was lacking.
Coffee and I are getting married next month. Save the Date.

Ups and Downs

We're in this together! Even if we do things a little unconventionally.

Semi-related favorite terrible joke:
What's white and can't swim?
A refrigerator!

Everything is Awful!

Getting reliable information out of a sick toddler is challenging.

Some Labels Don't Need to be Defied

I picked up a label maker at Goodwill this week.
I had no idea the cute it would unleash.
Well worth the price of admission.

First five rows will get wet.

I do attempt to contain my craziness, but it does violate desk boundaries sometimes.

String theory

Cat's cradle forms are fascinating.
Mister has mastered quite a few, but they remain elusive dark magics for me.

Sister From Another Mister

I finally got to meet my newest sibling this week!  She's absolutely spoiled and a bit...H..A..I..R..Y.

Leapin Lizards

My mom always told us if we caught a bird while at the beach we could keep it.  Kept us busy for hours.  I make no such promises to Miss Boo about wild reptiles, because she's actually pretty quick!

Soft kitty, warm kitty, Little ball of teeth.

Most cat owners recognize the signs of impending doom.
Some of us go for the belly rub anyway.

You Are My Safe Place

It's important to give the ones we love space when they need it.
It's also important to give the ones we love reassurance when they need it.
Sometimes, the ones we love need both.

Itsy Bitsy Dead thing

Four or five moments...that's all it takes to be a hero.
Ask Deadpool.

Snow Bunny Hop

I think I've actually used snowshoes once in my life.
I'm pretty sure heart-hops should be an Olympic event.

Alpine for you!

I could have gone for a different pun, but this is a family show.

"We work, and then we play."

I work at least part of the time most weekends which can be tough on little ones.
And bigger ones.

If I took up bow hunting, I'm pretty sure this would be the result.

She flies through the air with the greatest of ease!

We adopted a cat, Ramona, a few years back, and she has always been pleasantly plump.
Ravioli makes sure she gets plenty of exercise these days.
Misha makes sure she doesn't get too much exercise.

*disclaimer - No cats were actually used to fill out Ravioli's circus troupe

Stretch Goals

I don't know if you know this, but lycra is suuuuper stretchy.

Mister sees an occupational therapist for a variety of reasons, and she recommended we set up a lycra "cuddle swing" for him at the house. The stretchy fabric presses in from all sides and is rather comforting.  And the swing aspect is rather like a hammock.
It's good for vestibular input and  calming.
Dialing in how much fabric you need is a bit time-consuming and not without some risk of being consumed.  It is definitely worth the effort, though.

Woof. Woof woof.

Around 7pm, Watson starts grumbling.  He gets progressively louder.  He'll come up and put his paw on Nick's arm, grumbling "wrow-wrow-wrow" until Nick asks him if it's time for bed.  Then Watson bolts for the stairs and stands there wagging his tail until Nick goes upstairs to tuck him in bed.
Nick is most definitely Watson's person.

Extra! Extra!

Napkin People has no bigger fan than Mister.  Literally everyone we meet is encouraged to google "Napkin People" and read all about it.  It's incredibly sweet.

Now that's a sight!

We moved to Seattle a couple of years ago, but we still do the tourist thing from time to time.

Focus Group

It's important to listen to your loved ones, even if their focused interest isn't the same as yours.

"Ravioli" is our housemates' son. He's REALLY into tractors.
Mister, of course, is REALLY into a lot of things. Astrophysics being one.

Happy little cup of tea!

I'm currently working on a billion projects.
Which is as it should be!

Cold-blooded, but not cold-hearted.

Miss Boo has always loved snakes, and Mike has always hated snakes.
Sometimes, being a parent is hard.

What's Shakin'?

Mike and I have a long-standing joke about shaking the table while I'm doing something that requires precision. In our current place, we've got six computers set up on a series of large square tables to accommodate the combined households in the house.  It's AWESOME. But can occasionally present the cutest challenges.
Our resident two year old (our friends' son) loves to climb onto my desk -probably because his mother, Misha, does everything humanly possible to keep him from doing it- and he does the most adorable "I'M GONNA GET IN TROUBLE!" giggly dance as the closest adult approaches to remove him.

My Cup of Tea

My mugs continue to get larger each year.
I suspect I will at some point own a Big Gulp Mug.
